The traffic management project in Dhaka in Bangladesh

Dhaka, a capital city of People's Bangladesh in the southern Asia, has been having a remarkable economic boom, which has led the boost in the volume of cargo and travelers.
However, because the area ratio of public roads is very low and there are nolarge-sized transportations in the nation, so many different transportations are mixed on a road with cars, buses, rickshaws, etc. This has become a cause of traffic congestions and environment issues that are originated by such congestions.
This project was originally contracted to Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. by JICA and we have received a request for cooperation from Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. Since 2014, our association has implemented the maintenance of traffic lights, etc., upgrade of traffic control systems, and enlightening / improvement of the awareness of traffic safety.
